Artist's Statement

Living in a fast-paced world, bombarded by information and stimuli, the viewer of my work is invited to slow down, take a deep breath, and explore with a sense of wonderment and awe the spaces and worlds that I create.

I am captivated by light and form, and the integration and synergy of natural elements – clouds, rocks, earth, water, plants and animals. I am intrigued by the interplay of light and atmosphere, and the beauty of reflections, transparencies and rich textures. The images shown here are created digitally, using 3D and 2D software interfaces as my palette. None of the images that I create are photographs of actual places.

I strive to weave forms of nature into patterns and spaces bathed in atmosphere. These images are based on exploring the natural world – sights, sounds and smells that infuse my creative eye. My goal is not to produce images that are simply photorealistic, but rather to create visions that evoke curiosity, tell a story, or create a mood – engaging the mind and the senses. I hope that these images trigger a memory or recall a dream, remind you of familiar places or places awaiting your discovery.
