About the Artist

For more than 30 years, Mark has been exploring the worlds of biology and medicine as a Certified Medical Illustrator, creating imagery and animation that combine the accuracy demanded by science and medicine with the aesthetics desired in art. Mark is a graduate of Pratt Institute where he received a BFA with high honors in Drawing, and The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he received a Masters in Medical and Biological Illustration.

He has received numerous awards and honors. The Society of Illustrators, Rx Club, the National Science Foundation, the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, and the Association of Medical Illustrators are among some of the organizations that have recognized Mark’s achievements. Mark is excited about the latest body of work that he is creating because it reflects his deep love of nature and the outdoors. When Mark isn’t swimming, running, cycling or hiking, he enjoys traveling with his wife Debra and exploring the natural world…from the White Mountains of New Hampshire to the Fiordland of New Zealand.
